Let It Flow (September Version)

from Timeless V1 by Man in a Loft

/

about

This has always been one of my favorite tracks. It was inspired by a group called Slum Village and Dilla. I remember hearing their track Fantastic and I loved the timing. I decided to try the same, but my way.

I came up with the bass, electric piano, drums and some funky harpsichord licks in the background. Eventually I added strings. I love strings.

Uma Karkala was willing to record on the track and I loved the idea of live sax, but I didn't want to create anything too smooth jazz. I came up with the horn section and she recorded a lovely solo at the end.

Still a favorite. I wished I worked with her more.
